TET - 32 - M - 6" A ruffled bright clear rose-pink with a lighter pink watermark above a large vibrant green throat. Ext.; Sev. to Ev.; 3 way branching; bud count 15-20; Reg. 2009 (CLASSIC ROMANCE X GREAT EXPRESSION) This daylily is from the heart of my rose-pink hybridizing program. This daylily is named in honour of a very good friend Barbara White's mother who unfortunately passed away in the early spring of 2009. Barbara wanted a special daylily to be named to honour her mother and this is the daylily she chose. BETTY DEVEREAUX combines the best of the Munson and Whatley lines of breeding into one and has been a major breeder in my hybridizing program. There are several possible future intros that are either kids or grandkids of this daylily in our program. BETTY DEVEREAUX has been a hit at the farm ever since it first flowered many years ago. Matter of fact it was one I sort of thought I might not introduce and just keep for myself to breed with. What makes this daylily stand out from all the rest is its very ruffled bright clear rose-pink flower with its vivid green throat. There are not many daylilies out there that show this clarity of colour along with a good healthy plant under it. BETTY DEVEREAUX can show a bit of mussy foliage early in the spring but it recovers very fast and grows vigorously throughout the season. I would probably suggest that if you live in a far colder region than we have at the farm, which is a solid Zone 5 that you plant it where it is a bit protected or mulch it the first winter. It has grown at the farm over many varied winters totally exposed to the elements there and has done exceptionally well. However it has not been tested in a much colder zone therefore my cautioning you about it.
Just one of my finest introductions because of its breeding power. One of its offspring is 901A on the seedling page. I expect BETTY DEVEREAUX may sell out very early, therefore if you are planning on purchasing it I would recommend you order early. Fertile both ways. Pollen is easy, pods are a bit difficult.
