ELIZABETH WHITE (901A)
Elizabeth White
TET - 31" MLa - 7"
spacerA ruffled bright clear coloured rose-pink with a lighter watermark above a bright green throat. Ext.; Ev.; 3 way branching; bud count 15-20; Reg 2011 (BETTY DEVEREAUX X BARBARA WHITE). This daylily is named after a dear daughter of our dear friends Barbara and Nick White. A fitting name given that its parents are named after the mother and grandmother of Elizabeth White, the person. This daylily has been one of our major parents since it was selected as a seedling some years ago. It has also proven to be a great parent as well blooming several outstanding selections that will be introductions in the future. Clarity of colour is what this introduction brings to the table. The rose-pink colour is bright, clear and saturated. Its bright exploding green throat flows both in the petals and the sepals. The plant is healthy and bounces back from dividing easily and the branching and bud count are very acceptable. If there is a fault it is the evergreen plant habit. In the very early spring ELIZABETH WHITE will look quite mussy as it comes out of winter but recovers fast and grows well once the weather starts to warm up. It has grown for many years at our zone 5 climate at the farm and has done very well. However, I thought I should mention this plant habit for those in more severe climatic zones. If you live in one of those areas please mulch the first winter or plant in a bit of a protected spot. Once it gets settled I'm sure it will do just fine. We are only going to release a few single fans and I believe they will sell out fast, therefore if you wish to purchase ELIZABETH WHITE, I would recommend you order early. Fertile both ways.
