Haflinger Horses

Haflinger
spacer
spacerHaflingers originated in the Austrian Alps bred by the residing farmers many years ago and were used as work horses and pack animals. Starting in 1958, they were imported to North America and have had their numbers dispersed across the continent and most countries in the world. Halfingers are small horses ranging from 52 inches to 60 inches. The Haflinger breed are all one colour, being either golden chestnut, red chestnut or blond, with white to flaxen manes and tails. Most have either a full blaze or a star on their face. Haflingers are known for their very gentle personable nature. Once trained, they become wonderful companions that can be easily ridden or hooked to various horse drawn vehicles. We have an assortment of horse drawn vehicles at the farm. Halfingers are very gentle and are not high strung like a lot of breeds of horses, and are especially easy for children to work with. They look a lot like miniature Belgium horses if you are familiar with that breed of heavy horse.

MABELLINE'S MADELINE AVR Madeline is our most recent purchased haflinger to reside at Culver Farm and comes from the state of Indiana. She is our biggest mare at 58 inches and has excellent colouring. She is gentle and very easy going and comes from one of the U.S.'s top breeding lines of Haflingers. Her dam is a full sister to the Haflinger Major Move NTF who was one of the top selling Haflingers at public auction. Her sire All American Afghan NTF is one of the premier breeding stallions in the United States. Mabelline's Madeline AVR was shown in 2005 at the Indiana State Haflinger show and in a class of 20 4 yr old mares she placed 1st overall. She has been shown several times here in Ontario both in 2006 and 2007 with her placing first in the brood mare class each time she has been shown only being beat once, placing second during that time. She is broke single and double and to ride. Madeline is not for sale.

Aragon is by the stallion Alomar RVM who is out of an outstanding mare line that has produced some outstanding offspring both male and female. Alomar RVM is a brother to the popular stallion Magnum RVM both out of the mare Gabrielle TOF by Wintirol. Gabrielle TOF is out of one of Tudor Oak Farms premier imported mares by Afghan ll by the name of Gisi TOF. Aragon CFH is now owned by Michael Whittier and Michelle Stinson. The picture displayed of Aragon CFH was taken at the 2009 Ontario Halfinger Show and holding him is one of his proud new owners Michael Whittier.

APEX CUFH is owned in partnership with Ron and Linda Campbell of Brantford, Ontario. If you wish to see him he is housed at the Campbell farm.
